    Club News

For the Literacy for Little Ones Project, the club put together 20 literacy sets prepared specifically for toddlers.  Each set consisted of the sturdy board book The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a stuffed caterpillar that corresponds to the main character of the book, and a laminated card for the parent with suggestions of ways to foster a love for books in young children. These book sets will be given to families with toddlers through a local support services agency.

WCL members hosted an ice cream social and bingo event for the guests at Sarah's House, a transitional program for families in need of support to regain stability.

The WCL hosted a complimentary gift-wrapping event at Savage Mill as a fundraiser, accepting only donations for wrapping Christmas presents for shoppers.

The WCL members contributed an equivalent weight of items to the 2nd Avenue Thrift Store as part a fundraising initiative.

The students of Laurel Elementary are the recipients of the Birthday Book Club. Each student receives a book for their birthday.
